Lady Rose has her Santa wish list up and I guess I should write mine too in hopes that Santa and my husband will get in cahoots.
Dear Santa,
I know you probably don’t want to hear about a weight loss wish list because your suppose to be jolly and fat but hey it’s 2007 and almost everyone is health conscience. So I’ll make sure that I leave out low fat cookies and milk this year. They’re baked from scratch too.
I’m starting on the goal of losing weight again after many years of doing it over and over again. I could really use some things to keep me focused on my goal. A visa gift card with enough money to buy two outfit would be an awesome start. I’d tack it up on my wall to remind me that the sooner I lose some clothing sizes, the sooner I can go shopping.
I’m really going to be working on my arms and shoulders in 2008. I would love a set of stackable hand weights. The stackables are a perfect fit because they allow me to add weight onto the hand grips as my muscles get stronger.
How about some music Santa? My husband and I are always fighting over who gets the MP3 player this week. We were able to get one from Napster last year and I could use one of my own. The music would help me get through those last planks, bicep curls, and squats.
You probably know that I’m a big fan (no pun intended) of NBC’s The Biggest Loser. I would love the three books. The Biggest Loser has a fitness program, weight loss program, and cook book. I especially would love the cook book because both my husband and I need to start eating a healthy diet.
I’d like the chance to become ACE certified. I like helping people and I like being in the gym. I really would love the ACE study at home guide. So when I’m able to get this 300 pounds off, I’ll be able to help others get it off too.
Lots of Love,
Cat

Yesterday someone commented that “Super morbidly obese folks just don’t work at those levels from day one.” No offense but I’m going to prove you wrong with my actions on this one.
There are super morbidly obese folks out there that do work out at the level I wrote about yesterday. I’m sure you have seen NBC’s The Biggest Loser obviously they were not sitting around doing nothing.
Even if I do half the exercise that I wrote down. I would be doing more than what your educated guess thought I would.
Hey look, I’m not trying to spit at your comment but you really came across as the whole idea was going to be a failure. That a person can’t do it alone and that super obese people just don’t want to be active.
As for seeing a doctor. The last few doctors that I went to just wanted to prescribe drugs for my weight loss.
I agree that a doctor should be seen to keep everything in check such as blood pressure, diabetes, heart condition, and etc. I don’t see what the point since I have had my blood pressure, diabetes, and heart checked.
For those of you who are like me. Moderation is the key and activity is important even if your not moving as quickly as “Normal” people are moving. It’s the fact that you are developing a healthier lifestyle and increasing your activity level.
You also don’t have to be as adventurous as I am. Bicep curls, Squats, and aerobic activity is a lot of work in one day. Just plan an active event for one hour a day and do it.
Sorry Nike!

If the mathmatics are correct. I should see close to a three pound loss each week. I’m cutting calories and burning calories several ways during the day and mathmatically it should add up to a 3 pound loss during the week.
My body needs 2500 calores for a 400 pound woman. I’m currently 460+ and want to lose 50 pounds. So I’m cutting 200 calories a day.
Please correct me if I’m wrong or if you have experienced something differently.
1 hour bicep curls for a week equals - 1400 calories each week
Cutting calories to make 400 lbs - 1400 calories each week
1 hour aerobic exercise - 3500 calories each week
1 hour of squats for a week equals - 4200 calories per week
Total Calories 10500 = 3 pounds
I’ll just have to try and see what next Thursday brings.

30 minutes of Bicep Curls with a 4 lb weight - 327 calories
Cleaning Kitchen - 1 hour - 500 calories
I heard from NBC The Biggest Loser that if you do bicep curls while watching an hour of television that you can lose 200 calories. So I figure it has to be more calories for someone of my size because not only am I lifing the weight but I am lifting a good 2 pounds of fat too.
What I’m trying to do is be as active as I can during the day. I really don’t like the fact that the only things I can do during the day are take care of a home, play on the computer, blog, and watch television. I really do miss having a job.
So I figure if I do crunches, squats, bicep curls, and military presses while watching television that I’ll at least burn 400 calories a day. I hope..The math works out correctly but the body will not always follow along.
