This is one of the reasons why our family doesn’t do Chinese food very often. I woke up this morning from a night of Chinese food very dried out, thirsty, and not feeling the strength that a woman that had a night of sleep should have.
I would guess that the salt amount of the food that I had would average about 1540 mg. I’m sure this is well above the amount of salt I should have in one day.
What is the alternative when I’m really craving Chinese food? Should I rinse the foods off with water, to get rid of the salt sauces? Are there recipes out there that are low in salt but still have great flavor?
Hopefully, I can find some and share my favorites. Sure food is suppose to be used for fuel but it should taste good at the same time.
For now I’ll be spending the day drinking large amounts of water and cranberry juice to flush the system.
