The studying begins….

Are you one of those types of people who will always be a student? It’s as if you were put on this earth to study, share, and teach. I think I’m one of those cases so the studying begins.

Lately I’ve been thinking about my life in the past. O.K. I confess I just turned 36 on March 7th, so I’ve been thinking about things that have happened in the past. “Have I learned from them?” is a question that always comes to mine.

Then I started to wonder what does God say about the things that happen on earth and what we put ourselves through. There are the seven deadly sins:

  • Slothfulness
  • Greed
  • Gluttony
  • Wrath
  • Anger
  • Lust
  • Envy
  • Pride

Since I’ve been through a lot of emotional stuff my mind turned to the every day emotional stuff that people deal with. I wonder what words of God would we use to deal with:

  • Death
  • Financial Loss
  • Job Loss
  • Depression
  • Self-Hate
  • Sorrow
  • Body Image
  • Perfectionism
  • Homelessness
  • Abusive Relationships
  • Drugs
  • Alcohol
  • Peer Pressure
  • Seclusion
  • War
  • Disabilities
  • Racism

So once again the studying begins. I really didn’t want to write Disabilities because I believe that every child born is a blessing. Some of us are either born with or obtain hurdles that we have to deal with in every day life.

I also have to admit that I have a little anxiety. This is something that God has put on my heart and I don’t know how it is going to effect my marriage. My husband and I both believe in Jesus Christ. I’m just a little more involved in studying the bible and attending church.

I’m sure that I’ll be talking about it here. Everyone is welcome to post their comment and give their ideas. I know that I don’t know everything and everyone can learn something everyday of their lives. Just try to keep it on topic of the blog post.

You wouldn’t like me when I’m angry….

Summer really needs to hurry up and get here. Why? Dr. Bruce Banner is coming to towns across the nation! It will be interesting to see which is the better version 2003 with Eric Bana or 2008 with Edward Norton.Through the years I’ve seen Edward Norton play some interesting roles. Some them I have loved and some just bored me to death but the one point that I have to make is the man definitely has depth. Who would have thought with such a strange start as “Fight Club”

I know this has nothing to do with weight loss or training but I just had to share my excitement of yet another Marvel based movie. Can you catch Stan Lee cameo in The Incredible Hulk?

Why?

March 14, 2008 · No Comments

My mom just recently asked me the question “Why?” She knows why I am losing weight. I’ve always had a battle with food and my body weight. I think I started my first diet in grade school.

She wonders why I’m training to walk the 3 day walk in 2009. I personally don’t think my mom realizes how many people are affected by Breast Cancer. I also have to say that I’m a little angry too.

It hasn’t been a year since my cousin and her neice passed away. Our family has really struggled with issues of Cancer. My cousin, my aunt, my mom, and myself have all dealt with issues of breast and ovarian problems.

So mom I train because it effects us personally and because I can.

Miscalculations….

March 14, 2008 · No Comments

The distance I have been walking has been miscalculated. I walk around my cul-de-sac for safety. It’s close to home unless I’m with my husband and we walk around one of the local parks.

It seems the distance of .2 of a mile should have actually been .02 of a mile. The amount of feet per mile should have been closer to 5300 than the 1053 that a website told me earlier in the month.

So I feel like I’m staring all over again and feel even more out of shape. If I’m tired from walking one mile, how am I going to make 2, 5, or eventually 20.

Answer: I’m going to start all over again and make sure that I get the milage in. I’m not going to worry about losing the weight. I’m going to feed my body healthy foods and make sure that I get lots of walking in. The weight will come off from the result of both of these thing.

I hope…
