I have to admit that I really liked what Paul McKenna had to say because basicly I’m tired of dieting. I’m tired of watching every calorie and fat gram that goes into my mouth and not enjoying what I am eating.
So the things that Paul McKenna gave those who were watching the show to do is:
-
Go to your kitchen and give away the food items that don’t inspire you.
-
Make a list of your 5 favorite foods and let that be your grocery list.
I don’t think these are the only two things that are homework assignments. I’m now learning to:
-
Eat without a book, magazine, TV, radio or video game in possession
-
Finally listen to my body to tell me if it’s hungry or full
-
Savor the food I eat
-
Put my fork and knife down between bites
-
Stop classifying foods as good or forbidden
These practices are not a new thing though. Twenty years ago Judy Wardell wrote Thin Within that had the same concepts. Within five weeks of the show I think Paul McKenna will also introduce us to visualization and planning.
I hate to say it but these are things that I have been telling my friends for years. Unfortunately I haven’t done them myself. So here’s to visualizing myself healthy, raising money for charity, finishing a 3 day walk, returning to college, and taking steps to do everything.
