As you can see by my previous posts that I have taken a liking to Paul McKenna. I guess it’s the way that he speaks to his audience. He really knows how to connect to people on a personal level.
I believe that Paul McKenna is really trying to teach the world to speak positively to themselves. I’m really looking forward to the episode on TLC tomorrow. Paul will be teaching people to cure their emotional eating. If you eat because you are stressed, bored, sad, angry, or frustrated then I would suggest watching this episode.
One of the things that Paul has been doing and will be doing is teaching affirmations. If you have been trying to lose weight for years, I’m sure that you’ll remember this classic
“Nothing tastes as good as thin feels”
It’s nothing new to society, people have been doing chants, mantras, and affirmations for years. The reason is because there is power the words that we speak.
When deeds and words are in accord, the whole world is transformed. - Chuang Tzu (360 BC - 275 BC)
The words that we speak is the person that we become. This is why when you are taking on a new challange, you have to speak positively to yourself. It is important to find mantras, prayers, and affirmations that you connect with and life you up.
Another great motivator and Author is Ralph Waldo Emerson. It’s funny that people have collected so many wise and affirming quotes about him. The reason why I find it funny is because Mr. Emmerson was quoted “I hate quotations, tell me what you know.”
I’ve included several of his quotes because I believe they might inspire you to move forward in what you want to achieve and take chances in life.
Don’t be too timid and squeamish about your actions. All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better.
All our progress is an unfolding, like a vegetable bud. You have first an instinct, then an opinion, then a knowledge as the plant has root, bud, and fruit. Trust the instinct to the end, though you can render no reason.
